How to Use Seedance 2.5 in FORGR
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's latest video model, available in FORGR on Director and above. It makes clips of 4 to 30 seconds at up to 4K with native audio, starting from a prompt, a start image, or up to 30 reference images and 10 reference videos. It costs from 35 credits per second.

The choice that shapes a Seedance 2.5 generation most is the input mode, because it decides what the model works from and whether the higher reference-video rate applies. Pick that first, then set resolution and duration, which together set the cost.
Which Seedance 2.5 input mode should you use?
Use Text to Video when you have only a description, Image to Video when you have an approved still, and Reference to Video when several images or clips need to inform the shot.
| Mode | You provide | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Text to Video | Prompt | You only have an idea |
| Image to Video | Prompt, start image, optional last frame | The framing is approved |
| Reference to Video | Prompt, optional images and videos | Several sources inform the shot |
Image to Video has no aspect ratio control. The other two modes offer 9:16, 3:4, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, and 21:9.
