How to Connect FORGR to Your AI Assistant With MCP
To connect FORGR to an AI assistant, add the FORGR MCP server URL as a custom connector, sign in with your FORGR account, and approve access. There is no API key to create. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and other clients that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in.
Model Context Protocol, or MCP, is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside tools. Once connected, your assistant can reach your FORGR account from the chat you are already working in, which is useful when a scene is being planned there and the next step is generating it.
How do you connect FORGR to your AI assistant?
Copy the server URL, add it to your client as a custom connector or remote MCP server, then sign in when prompted.
https://mcp.forgr.ai/mcp
These steps add FORGR at user level, so it stays available in every project and new session. Menu names change between app versions, so yours may differ slightly.
Claude
- 1
Open connectors
Go to Customize, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- 2
Add the URL
Paste the server URL and click Add. Leave any OAuth credential fields empty.
- 3
Sign in
Connect the new connector and sign in with your FORGR account.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings, then each member connects their own account.
ChatGPT
- 1
Turn on Developer Mode
Go to Settings, then Connectors, open Advanced settings, and turn on Developer Mode.
- 2
Create the connector
Create a connector with the server URL, confirm you trust it, and sign in with your FORGR account.
- 3
Use it in a chat
Start a new chat and pick the connector from the + menu.
Developer Mode depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins may need to enable it first.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http forgr https://mcp.forgr.ai/mcp
Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose to authenticate.

Any app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can connect. Add this URL wherever it lists MCP servers or connectors, at user or global level if it offers a choice, sign in with your FORGR account, and leave any API key or token fields empty.
What access does your assistant get?
You sign in with your FORGR account in the browser and approve two permissions. No key is created or stored by you.
- Read
- See data from your FORGR account.
- Generate
- Start generations on your behalf.
What if the connection does not work?
Most connection problems come down to a credential field that should be empty, a sign-in on the wrong account, or a connector that is off for the current chat.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The client asks for an API key or token | Leave those fields empty. Sign-in happens in your browser. |
| Sign-in finishes but the connection fails | Remove the connector, add it again, and approve access on the account you use on FORGR. |
| Tools do not appear in chat | Start a new chat and check that the connector is turned on for it. |

No. You sign in with your FORGR account in the browser and approve access. If a client shows client ID, secret, or token fields, leave them empty.
Which AI assistants work with FORGR MCP?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. This guide covers Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code.

How do I disconnect FORGR from my assistant?
Remove the FORGR connector from your assistant's settings. To reconnect later, add the URL again and sign in.

Know what a generation costs
Generations started from an assistant draw on the same balance, so it is worth knowing what each one costs before you ask for a batch of them.
